Do you know many 18 year olds with Four years of valid DJ experience?
I'm guessing the answer is no. Toon Roebben aka BJEOR is one of those exceptional characters that got into underground house music at an age most of us still think Justin Bieber has it all. In the meantime he established himself a solid reputation amongst local house-loving crews like Club106, Village of sounds and of course Silenced.
In recognition of his talent, we are glad to announce BJEOR takes on the Silenced DJ residency.
For this joyous occasion, we invite you to a small gathering at the Old Market. Let's get together, hear the man at work and make a toast: ...to HOUSE MUSIC!

Once popular and very much alive, techno and house music has faded away in the Louvain party scene. Iconic venues like club Silo and Der Machine have fallen in the abyss of old memories. An obvious lack of party locations drives the alternative music scene into the shadow of the underground.
But we don't mind. We like the smaller parties. We like it cozy and personal. We like it loud and deep. We like it where it's dark.
Welcome to MØRK
A new concept, in a new location, in the heart of Leuven.

We bring you, Retral, a sex-, age- and colorful persona from Southampton, Britain.
We are all looking forward to his forthcoming release on the Silenced netlabel...and here's some gasoline for the fire of anticipation:
Fvneral Blves [FORTHCOMING ON SILENCED]

Krasnoyarsk, Russia. That's where this music comes from.
It feels like the other side of the planet. It's close to Mongolia and Kazakhstan and no where near Moscow. Over there, three guys came together and created Eholow. Their sound (something in between intelligent dance music and post-rock) got picked up by Nu_Aura Netlabel. An interesting new label which combines music and illustrations for every track. Sure enough, this did get our attention and brought us to the two tracks presented to you today: niti and nutazii.
They speak to me on an experimental unconventional level, but hey, don't take my word for it... check it out!

Let's call this future garage? There's a piano, syncopated rhythms, beat-skipping kick drums and spaced out vocal samples.
Lunova Labs (USA) made this release purposefully for the Silenced netlabel. It was inspired by a philosophical movement, called transcendentalism, which developed in the 19th century. Among the transcendentalists' core beliefs was the inherent goodness of both man and nature. Transcendentalists believed that society and its institutions - particularly organized religion and political parties - ultimately corrupted the purity of the individual. They had faith that man is at his best when truly "self-reliant" and independent. Each song is titled off of a piece of work written by some of the leading figures of the movement.
The album breaths spirituality and mystery. I dare you to hit the repeat button. You'll find yourself back on the moon.

The new album got picked up right away on several international blog spots!
A few quotes:
"Wow! I’ll say that again. Wow! Very nice piece indeed!"
"Great Skies has had some strong releases this year" :)
"If you like downtempo spiced with some nice beats, you should definitely check this release out."
"A blissful world of lush soundscapes and graceful downtempo, which he pairs with just the right amount of UK post-everything sensibilities."
"The Ghosts Follow Us is my jam. I love it!"
"Thanks for the free download, I love all your stuff!"
"Nothing warms up my ego-based understanding of a song than a mood setting speech."
Many thanks to the following blogs: dingus, deepgoa, the sound they make, mapzzz, netlabelism

This London based producer made me high on melodies. Matthew Wells aka "Great Skies" is only 20 years old and already reinvented the wheel. We've all been there, lost in a landscape of down-tempo beverages. This time however, the ghosts follow us, while we drift through a repetitive environment fueled by spicy beats.
It's as easy and catchy as it is complex and subtle. I'd like it to be played in clubs, on the road and in my living room. Keep an eye on the horizon as we watch out for Great Skies.

A jawdropping three-tracker from this Belgian artist. You'll be chilling out, while subtle synths and sneaky basslines close in on you. Once intoxicated, there is no way back. It's life on a road of mellow melodies and crispy claps. Walk with us.

They already built their shelter, added some reverb and delays, escorted travelers, rearranged some strings, wobbled a bunch of massive basslines and gave police assistance to the weak civil authorities on the frontier. Nice work!
