30 artists added to the contest

Things are turning pretty hectic around here as the deadline is in sight. more and more demo's keep arriving and we're really struggling to keep up. but of course, we're happy with all the interest coming from all over the belgian land!

I got a mail today from dj AndyCape asking if we really truly listen to all these demo's. the answer is yes. we believe in the renewing force of upcoming talents and we make it our mission to be interested in everyone of you. Of course you have to understand that we don't listen to every mix entirely. If someone screws up really bad during the first fifteen minutes, we don't bother listening to the rest of the mix. This might seem as a tough approach, but you gotta keep in mind that the competition is hard... there are plenty of demo-cd's with perfect mixes and great flow.

Today I also spoke with stijn from Poppunt. He told me mister Tom Dazing will be their representant for the final jury. Tom will choose the poppunt-winner of this competition. This winner will be sure of a spot on silence at silo (27/09/08) and will also be the shining star on the poppunt website and the poppunt magazine.
As you might know, Tom is into minimal music, but don't worry, if you have send us a demo in a totally different style...poppunt is just 1 of many organisations promising great prizes for the winners of this competition!

Deadline closing in

As the deadline for demo-submission is closing in, it's starting to rain cd's. It still strikes me how many people forget to put any contact info. It's quite funny sometimes. They tell you so much, like where they live, where they work, the day they were born, how they grew up...and in the end they just forget to put a phone number or emailadres. I've encountered ten of these cd's by now.

We received the first XL-postpack. It's almost 40x30cm, has a stamp for up to 2 kg, but only containes a CD and two A4 pages . So congrats to dj agmet for sending us the biggest shipment.

Another eye-catcher is of course "Snap, Crackle & Pop". No names, no biography and a promise to perform in disguise. They gave us a cd, a phone number and a bizar guestbook message. Looks like somebody is playing the mystery card. ;-)

BRRBOX

My friend doppeldekker and me have both been making music seperately, but recently we teamed up and started producing together. Combining our forces, we came up with a sound better than anything we made before. Have a listen on the myspace page.
