Wixel 7"

Hi all
Wixel released a 7" a couple of weeks ago.. check it out at http://users.skynet.be/kasparhauser/releases/017.html - it's a split 7" with bloedrood.



Wixel released its much acclaimed debut cd ('Heart') and a tour EP ('Herfst') last year, and now returns with a first vinyl release. Side B contains a track based on slow acoustic guitars and a pizzicato violin, with very subtle layers of slightly overdriven electronics. Much more sobre compared to the songs on the 'Heart' full-length.
Bloedrood is the less known lo-fi singer-songwriter alter ego of Wixel. Side A contains two songs. Liesbeth is dedicated to a tv-personality from the Temptation Island show in which couples test their love for each other; Willem Bloedroodt goes with the flow and sings about her: "Baby, I like you but I like your ass better... And I'll sing anything to get in your pants". The second track, I Am Petrified, is way more personal and enclosed. Together with 'Gold vs Snow' (released on the bonus cd-r of the limited run of this 7") probably the most catchy poptune ever written by Bloedrood.
After a very limited edition of 20 for the rarefish festival in Brussels, this is the final print of this 7" record. Black vinyl, 33rpm, sleeve design by Kristof Luyckx, silkscreened by Jelle Crama. Comes in an edition of 137.
