Good news from 5voor12

The people organising the yearly ten days off festival in Ghent mailed us some good news. Earlier they announced that the Silenced/Switch contest winners could win an additional booking on their festival. But now it gets better, because today they informed us that not less than 18 dj's will earn a spot at the café during the festival. Not bad right?

Hi Silenced Team,

Firts of all: big respect for this massive contest, loving it!
Question:
Do you have any idea what the procentual balance is between sent dj-demos and producers-demos? I think there are far more dj-mixes than self made tracks. Making a mix with your own tracks (supposing you have like 20 finished tracks) is pretty hard compared to mixing a dj-set having over 300 records.
Is there a difference in judging and qualifying?
Just wondering....

hellow alberto,

thanx for your support!
I'd say there are about 4 or 5 deejays for every producer. Of course there is a difference in judging and qualifying. Producing a top notch track is more impressive than playing one on your turntable... then again it's better to dj kickass tracks than to make cheap crappy tracks as a producer ;-)
it's all pretty subjective. it's the fifth year we're doing this contest, so we hope to be a fair, balanced demo jury by now!
